Official Author Bio

Even as a young child, Maureen would conjure up stories in her imagination, sharing them with anyone who would listen. Maureen is a dreamer who sees animals in the shapes of the clouds and lives in the books she reads.  Maureen has developed her storytelling and writing quite a bit since childhood, but the thrill of languages, words and creations still inspire her.

Growing up on the west coast, Maureen still loves the ocean, mountains, rain, rocks, stars, driftwood and all storms.

She is always amazed by the ever changing skies in Saskatchewan. She loves the beautiful landscapes and finds all four seasons inspirational.

Maureen has been writing professionally since retiring in 2021, after 33 years in a policing career. She lives in Saskatchewan with her family, on Treaty 4 Territory, and the original lands of the Cree, Saulteaux, Dakota, Nakota, Lakota, and the homeland of the Metis.

Tony, her striking Tabby cat, is the inspiration for her first book, "Just Our Tony".

Tuco, a sweet, three legged boxer dog who blessed her when he came into her life, was the inspiration for the book "I AM TUCO''.  He left a lasting impression on her heart.
